20. Spike
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Okay. Okay. Okay! I'm only a little into season five of BtVS, and so far Spike hasn't been THAT heroic. But! He was in a demon-beating mood for a while and he has helped out a little sometimes, so he sort of counts for the list. If I truly believe he REALLY counted, he would have been much higher. So, to be fair, I'm putting him at the very bottom. That's also because he's very selfish. But I love him anyway.
19. Edward Cullen
Twilight

Spike is my favorite vampire, but Edward beats him on this list because Edward is definitely more of a hero. He is always saving Bella and he is awesome. I am glad he doesn't want to be a monster, because with the power he has ... he would be a very scary monster. But he's not. He's wonderful! Since I've only known him a few days, it's only fair that he's this low on the list, although he is VERY heroic.
18. Hiro Nakamura
Heroes

Of course there are gonna be some Heroes characters on this list! I think Hiro was more heroic in season one and maybe in season two because he was trying to prevent a space-time continuum disaster. I still like him, but he's not being as heroic as he can be lately, so he is way down here. I am ready for him to stop being ten years old! It's cute and all ... but he needs to be more helpful!!
17. Jack Dawson
Titanic

He was very much a hero! If he'd lived on to be even more heroic, he might be higher on this list ... but since they went and killed him off, it's only fair to leave him this low. First of all, Jack saved Rose from jumping off the boat, then he saved her from falling off the boat. THEN he saved her from marrying that stupid Cal, who she was never happy with anyway. Then he saved her from dying when the boat sank. Rose saved him once, too, when he was handcuffed to the pipe! Even heroes need saving sometimes ...
16. Angel
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel
I haven't seen as much of his heroic-ness as I have of some others on this list, so I don't feel it's fair to put him much higher on this list. But I do love Angel, and he has done some heroic stuff in what I've seen of him so far. But seriously, Angel, visit Sunnydale soon! I am ready! By the way, I have only seen one episode of the show, Angel, but I put listed it here for him anyway ... it counts because he was heroic in that episode ... he was!
15. Nathan Petrelli
Heroes

I've started REALLY liking Nathan lately. He's just been awesome to me for some reason. He's always been awesome, but I've just been liking him more of late. He is always saving Peter, among other people, so he makes the list. I hope he's okay in Haiti!!
14. Pippin Took
Lord of the Rings series

Pippin was very heroic, especially in Return of the King! He lit the beacon to alert that Minas Tirith needed help! He saved Gandalf from that scary orc! Pippin was very brave. I love him.
13. Frodo Baggins
Lord of the Rings series

I like Pippin more than I like Frodo, but I think Frodo was a little more heroic. I mean, he did go on that huge journey to destroy the ring, and he made it there and back again (hehe, get it?). Frodo is awesome.
12. Jack Shephard
Lost

He has been a very heroic character. He was the leader on the island, whether he asked for it or not. He helped save a bunch of people the day the plane crashed. He's used his medical know-how to save people, and he's just used his awesomeness to save people. Like some other heroes, he has needed saving too. I love Jack. I am ready for season five!
11. Aragorn
Lord of the Rings series

Aragorn is amazing. Like I said a while ago in my LOTR characters list, I would feel safe going anywhere if I was with Aragorn. He killed a whole bunch of Orcs and Uruk-hai. He got those ghosty-kings to help with the Battle of Minas Tirith. He's just awesome and definitely deserves a spot on this list.
10. Sylar
Heroes

If Sylar isn't already a hero, I think he's on his way. But he has done at least one heroic thing. Sure, he pushed Peter out of the window, but he slowed him down so he didn't die! That's heroic. Oooo, and he took away Elle's pain! Heroic as well! Like with Spike, he would be higher if he was REALLY heroic, but I think Sylar is a bit more heroic than Spike, so he makes number ten.
09. Marty McFly
Back to the Future series

Marty, along with Doc, has saved the world a few times. Of course, Marty is the one who kind of made the rips in the space-time continuum most of the time, but he always managed to fix them! And he was very brave, or he tried to be, at least. Haha, nobody calls him chicken!!
08. James Bond
Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace

I'll watch pretty much any Bond movie, but the two newest ones are definitely my favorite and Daniel Craig is definitely my favorite Bond. Therefore, the James Bond I am talking about here is that one. He's so tough and awesome AND he's clever and brave. He's also suave and gorgeous, haha. The perfect Bond! Although, he does have flaws. But he's saved the world from a few villains now, so he's definitely a hero worthy of this list.
07. Buffy Summers
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Oh look, the only female on this list! Haha, spoiler alert: no more girls beyond this point. Anyway, Buffy definitely is an awesome girl - she's just an awesome person. Sometimes her awesomeness intimidates people - especially guys who feel silly when a girl has to save them from mean people (or demons). But that's okay. It's cool to be awesome!
06. Harry Potter
Harry Potter series

Harry was a hero when he was one year old. He couldn't save his parents, but he saved countless other people. Once he grew up and discovered what he could be, he saved even more people. And then he killed Voldemort and saved so many more people. Yay Harry!
05. Spider-Man
Spider-Man series

I really need to read the comics to see the original Spider-Man. As it stands, I am talking about the Tobey Maguire Spidey. I love Spidey! He's saved Mary Jane, Aunt May, Gwen Stacy ... oh, and the entire city of New York. That's gotta count for something.
04. Xander Harris
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
So, I've heard that his most heroic moment(s) is/are yet to come for me. But the heroic-ness he's already shown combined with my love for him makes him number four on this list. He is so great! I hope he realizes how awesome he is soon. He's been really down on himself a lot so far in the series. He's essential to the gang! I love Xander.
03. Charlie Pace
Lost

The top 3 - the top five, really - were insanely hard to order. I love them all! But this is how it worked out. I think if Charlie had been given more screen time, in season three especially (other than Desmond telling him he was gonna die), then Charlie might be number one because he would have had more chances to be heroic and I love him so much. But he really was a hero! He gave his life to save the people he cared about on the island. Also, he gave up his drug while stranded on an island where he didn't really have much else to do - he saved himself with that one (even though he did receive a little help from Locke). Charlie was a hero. Charlie-ghost needs to come back and be a hero!!
02. Peter Petrelli
Heroes

My favorite hero from Heroes! I love Peter. He's one of the few people on that show who actually wanted his powers and wanted to use them to save people. He has saved people! He saved the cheerleader - remember? He also caught that crazy vial and saved the whole world. So yeah, Peter's definitely worthy of being this high on the list. He ALMOST made it to number one ... but I couldn't deny that the winner is ......
01. Batman
Batman Begins and The Dark Knight

Yay! I am talking about the Christian Bale Batman here, but I will watch any Batman movie. Like Spidey, I really need to read the Batman comic books to see about the original Batman. I do really love the new Batman, though. He is my favorite hero because he is a comic book super hero but he seems like he could really exist. All of his gadgets are pretty high tech, but they all could really be real. It's so cool. So Batman wins! It was really close, but ... I am satisfied with this decision. Yay Batman!
