I'm copying Otherhero's list of the day again! I really wanted to copy his Top 20 Buffyverse characters list yesterday because I was in a huge BtVS mood before and especially after I read that list (as evidenced by the James Marsters video I posted yesterday that I've been giggling over ever since), but I didn't copy it. Do you know why? For one thing, there probably aren't 20 characters I could put on a list like that. So I could have done a top 10 or top 12 list, but I really want to save that for when I finish season 4, which should be soon.
Anyway, today Otherhero posted a list of his 20 favorite American Idol contestants. I can copy that one, and I shall right now. I don't want to put pictures on mine, though ... because I'm feeling lazy ... and because I'm already procrastinating enough by just making the list ... haha. So here we go:
20. Melinda Doolittle
Season 6, 3rd place
She wasn't my favorite of season six, but I will admit that she was probably the best technical singer that season. And she was very likeable!
19. Clay Aiken
Season 2, 2nd place
I didn't like him during season 2 because I was rooting for my hometown boy (more about that later). However, now I realize he is a really good singer, so even though I'm not crazy about much of his music, I do appreciate him more.
18. Ace Young
Season 5, 7th place
Poor Ace. I thought he was kind of underrated. He wasn't the best in season five, but he was better than he was given credit for. But he seems to be doing pretty well now, especially with co-writing an insanely popular song by someone else on this list, haha. So it's all good.
17. Anthony Fedorov
Season 4, 4th place
Anthony! I always kinda liked him during season 4. My first big Idol obsession was that season (more about him later), so I didn't go REALLY crazy over Anthony, but I did like him! He has a really good voice.
16. Carly Smithson
Season 7, 6th place
Season seven was a really strong season. Carly had one of the best voices. She got a little shouty sometimes, but she was really good. She was also really likeable. I really enjoyed seeing her live on the Idol tour.
15. Elliott Yamin
Season 5, 3rd place
Another really likeable contestant! He sort of snuck up on me that season, because he was one that, at the beginning, I didn't really notice as much. But he kept getting better and better, and I was really rooting for him to go to the finale instead of McPhee.
14. Ruben Studdard
Season 2, 1st place
Hometown boy! I watched season one of Idol, but I really wasn't rooting for anyone. But I was definitely rooting for Ruben in season two. I might not have rooted for him if he wasn't from Birmingham, I have to say (since I'm not crazy about his style of music). However, his voice is undeniably awesome and he is very likeable. Yay Ruben!
13. Chris Daughtry
Season 5, 4th place
I liked him better on the show than I do now, but I still like him. I don't necessarily dislike Daughtry's music. During season 5, he and Elliott went back and forth as my second favorite. Now I've decided Chris is my second favorite season five-r. And he was on CSI: NY last night! I didn't watch it, though ...
12. David Archuleta
Season 7, 2nd place
Archie! You'll see much later on why I didn't fully appreciate him during the season, but now that I've re-watched some of his performances and seen him live in concert, I really like him. His album is a little too poppy for my tastes, so that's why he's not higher. I still really like Archie!!
11. Diana DeGarmo
Season 3, 2nd place
I didn't watch season 3. But I've seen enough to know that Diana would have been my favorite if I had watched it. She is an amazing singer. I really liked seeing her on Gone Country too, haha. I hope she does really well in country music!
10. Brooke White
Season 7, 5th place
Brooke was my favorite girl during season 7. I was sad when her nerves got the best of her sometimes, but she really could give an awesome performance. I love her voice and its raspy-ness, haha.
9. Chris Richardson
Season 6, 6th place (or 5th? I still don't know)
My second favorite season six person! I think he's another one that was underrated. I mean, sure, he didn't have the BEST voice of the season, but he could do some awesome things! I loved his performance of Geek In The Pink! Also, he was awesome on the tour. And he can beatbox almost as well as Blake!
8. Jason Castro
Season 7, 4th place
I really wish Jason had gotten 3rd or 2nd place (don't know if he could have fought off Archie, but he should have at least beaten Syesha). He was my third favorite of season 7 and he was awesome. I love his laid-back style - of life and music.
7. Carrie Underwood
Season 4, 1st place
I will say that I wasn't rooting for her during the finale (see #6), but I did see and continue to see why she won and why she deserved to win. She is an amazing singer. I am so glad she has so much success and I also like that she thanks American Idol every time she wins an award (and that's a lot of times).
6. Bo Bice
Season 4, 2nd place
Yep, I was rooting for Bo. He was another hometown boy, but I would have liked him even if he wasn't from these here parts (haha). He's got an awesome voice and style of music that seems like a 70s throw-back, yet current at the same time. It's awesome stuff.
5. Taylor Hicks
Season 5, 1st place
Another hometown boy! Taylor's awesome. He probably would have been my favorite in season 5 even if he wasn't from Birmingham because his voice is great and his personality is great. And his dancing is great. Haha!
4. Constantine Maroulis
Season 4, 6th place
Yay!! My first ever Idol obsession. I blame him for my bad grades in 10th grade chemistry. Haha. I think I loved him since his audition. I know I at least liked him from his audition. I remember how they talked all about his band and how he was one of those scream-y singers. But he has such a great voice with such great range! He was robbed! Sigh. He is amazing. Oh, and there's also The Stare. You know the one.
3. Michael Johns
Season 7, 8th place
Sigh. In my opinion, he was the most-robbed contestant of all time. Eighth friggin' place? No way. But it happened. Michael was - and continues to be - amazing. He was SO AWESOME on the tour. And he has a Christmas song coming out soon! I will have to splurge and buy it. I am ready!
2. Blake Lewis
Season 6, 2nd place
Blake! I blame Blake for my bad grades in 12 grade physics (though, Lost and my allergy to physics homework could also be blamed for that). I went really REALLY crazy over Blake. I thought voting 200 times for Constantine was crazy, but my biggest vote totals for Blake were in the 600s. I was very glad he made it to the finale and very upset that he lost (and right before Charlie Pace died, too. Sigh). I'm okay with his loss now ... only because he didn't have to record that horrible coronation song. Haha.
1. David Cook
Season 7, 1st place
Cookie!! I went really really REALLY crazy over Cookie. And he didn't cause me to have bad grades in anything! David was the first contestant I picked as my favorite solely for the fact that I loved him (nothing at all to do with B'ham) that went all the way to the finale and then won. Yay! So, my highest vote totals for Blake were in the 600s, right? My highest vote totals for Cookie were twice that. But that can be owed to my parents' bluetooth headsets and the fact that my college homework load is a lot lighter than my high school homework load. But I also sent Cookie two pieces of fan mail (one with a drawing and a stupid homemade necklace in it, haha), took screencaps of every one of his performances, watched his top 3 homecoming stuff live online, and I call him "Cookie" on a regular basis. Haha. So I went pretty crazy and I am still going crazy. Therefore, he is my number one! I love him! His album came out a couple days ago, but I don't have it yet. I have heard it all once, though, and it's awesome. I am so excited to get it! Yay David!
Fun fact: I have seen my entire top 10 live in person at one point or another.
Fun fact 2: I have also seen #s 12, 16, 17, and 20 live. Yay! Fun!
That is all. Hope you enjoyed.

Yay! That was fun... I predicted your top FOUR in order! But only after I read through #5... but I think if I had tried I would have gotten it right anyway. :D
