Top Ten LOST Characters

I just watched the amazing, wonderful, fantastic, insane, crazy, awesome season 4 finale of Lost. If you didn't know, I loved it.

It made me want to do a list of my top ten characters from the show. I believe I've done a similar list before, long ago. It's changed a bit, I am sure. So here's the updated version.

10. Juliet Burke
I used to dislike her. A lot. But that's only because I didn't know if I could trust her. However, through their common goal of getting off the island, she and the "good guys" eventually joined together, and she became a much cooler character. So I like her a lot these days. The only thing is ... what's happened to her now? Hmmm.

9. Hurley Reyes
He's usually good for a laugh, so it's weird seeing him so messed up in his flash-forwards. But I still like him a lot. I feel sorry for him, for a few reasons. People pick on him a lot. And there's the whole numbers curse thing. And in the future, he sees dead people. And he's just really confused. Poor Hurley.

8. Boone Carlyle
Sigh. He's still in my top 10, even though he was in, what, 2 episodes? Haha. Okay, more than 2. It just seems like it was only 2 ... sigh. Locke or someone should hallucinate and see Boone again. He died way too soon. He was awesome. Every time I watch season 1, I go crazy for Boone. And then he always dies. Why?!?!

7. Ben Linus
Wow! Seriously?! Number seven?! Yes. I used to LOATHE him because he was EVIL and SCARY and MEAN. And yes, he called for the death of someone much higher on this list, and I'm still kind of peeved about that. But gosh darn it, Ben's been awesome this season. I've actually found myself rooting for him. It kind of scares me.

6. Sayid Jarrah
On the season 3 finale, Sayid killed a dude with his ankles. Tonight, there was a freaking awesome fight scene involving Sayid. I seem to like him best when he's kicking ass. Haha. He's just an awesome dude!

5. Kate Austen
Wow, another female on my list. Craziness. Kate's one of the best female characters on TV ever, I think. Sure, the whole murderer-on-the-run thing isn't something to be proud of, but Kate's just really ... awesome. She can track things, she can kill things ... and people ... but only bad people. She's cool!

4. Desmond Hume
I've always kind of liked Desmond. But ever since "The Constant," I've pretty much loved Desmond. I don't really have an explanation or anything. I just love him. And he had a happy ending to season 4, so that's great! Yay Desmond!

3. Sawyer Ford
He switches back and forth with my number 2 in terms of who I like better. A lot of the time, they're practically tied. It's not that I like Sawyer any less now than I ever have, I just like my number 2 more now than I ever have. In fact, I probably like Sawyer more now than I ever have, too. Which I guess says a lot for my number 2. But you'll have to wait for that because I want to talk about Sawyer now. I like how he's gotten a bit sensitive lately. He was all protective of Claire and Aaron. I like protective Sawyer! But, like I was talking about for Juliet ... what's happened to him now?!

2. Jack Shephard
You know, I don't really have an explanation for why I suddenly LOVE Jack. But I do. I just do. Do you understand?! I love present time Jack and crazy future Jack. And I probably love flashback Jack, although we haven't seen him in a while. I love Jack!

1. Charle Pace
I miss him. So much. He really should have visited future Hurley more often. Charlie ghost should have visited everyone. I hope Charlie ghost shows up in season 5. And season 6. I think Charlie ghost could make any episode of Lost better, even the extremely amazing wonderful ones such as the season 4 finale. I'm not complaining, though - the season 4 finale was unbelievably amazing. But yeah. You know what would be even better than Charlie ghost making appearances in future episodes? Living Charlie making appearances in future episodes. Sigh. I miss Charlie!!!!

Kate could have been one of the better characters . . . if she had been written better and portrayed by a better actress than Evangeline Lily.
