Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 3

1970s

5. Ringo Starr

I love Ringo. I think he's a total hottie, even today. He's a cool dude and I love his music. I don't know what else to say ... except ... yay Ringo!

4. Robert Plant

His voice is amazing. He was certainly a 70s icon and a 70s hottie. He dressed the part, too ... haha.

3. George Harrison

I had the oldest Beatle at the beginning of this list and now the youngest. George was a hottie too. Those Beatles were a bunch of hotties, in multiple decades ... haha.

2. Steven Tyler

He's a lot like Mick Jagger for me, in that he might not have the prettiest face, but his attitude and his singing make him a total hottie. Except I'm gonna say that in the 70s, Steven was a lot prettier than Mick. Haha.

1. Freddie Mercury

My number one in a lot of categories! It's been three and a half years since I was in the middle of my crazy Queen obsession, but I am still definitely in love with Freddie. He was a genius, had (in my opinion) one of the top one, two, or three best voices ever, and was ... you guessed it ... a total hottie.

A Break From The Hotties

I see I've been slacking on the hottie posting. Sorry about that. I am going to slack off a little bit more. I felt like blogging about something else tonight.

I'M DONE WITH THE SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, May 7, was my first full day of summer vacation. I was lazy to the Nth degree. It was wonderful. What did I do ... hmmm. Well, I played a video game. I watched TV. I painted. I ran around the internet. I played with my gerbils. I was just lazy. I stayed in my pajamas. I only went outside once, and that was to check the mail.

Let me update you on what has been going on with me.

- I am now in love with James Dean and I am patiently awaiting the arrival of a poster of him I ordered from allposters.com a few nights ago.
- I watched Bonnie and Clyde Wednesday night. It was wonderful, except for the ending, but at least I knew it was coming. Warren Beatty is a hottie.
- I am still looking for a job.
- I sold my textbooks and I have enough money for a ticket to see U2 in Atlanta in October. Now I just have to convince my dad to take me ...
- I am teaching myself German with the help of a $3 German textbook I bought at a thrift store in Pell City, AL.
- I have started watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and stand-up comics on Comedy Central late at night.
- I think I might have gotten all As this semester ... but I just don't know.
- I have been watching old movies lately. Here are the ones I have watched in the order in which I liked them, from least favorite to favorite, but I loved them all:
4. An Affair To Remember
3. Bonnie and Clyde
2. North By Northwest
1. East of Eden
Giant is coming on TV next Thursday. I will certainly be watching it to see my new love, James Dean. Hopefully the library will have Rebel Without A Cause the next time I go there.
- My 2 favorite American Idol contestants, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, are in the top 3! I will be happy if either of them wins.
- I am still in love with Ryan Seacrest.
- My car is in the shop.
- I want to travel.
- I am afraid of bees.
- I love soft pretzels.
- I love pancakes.

That should be all. I am going to go do something, but I don't know what. And then I am going to bed. Bye!

Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 2

1960s

5. Mick Jagger

Okay ... he's never had the prettiest face, but he didn't look half bad in the 60s. He's always been in fantastic physical shape, though. Something else that contributes to his hottie status - probably the main thing, really - is his attitude. He's just a cool guy. Always has been. So he is on this list.

4. Jim Morrison

I've always had a bit of a crush on him. He was just a very pretty man. The iconic picture of him I have included here shows that. He also had a great voice and that cool guy, don't-give-a-damn attitute. I need to listen to more Doors music.

3. Paul Simon

I love both members of Simon & Garfunkel, but I believe Paul fits on this list just a bit better. They are both looking good in this picture, though! I'll say Art is number 6 for this list. Honorable mention! But yes, Paul Simon was a 60s hottie. I love him!

2. John Lennon

I was watching A Hard Day's Night some weeks ago I was thinking, "John Lennon is insanely adorable." He was! Haha. His sense of humor adds to his hottie status. He was also incredibly good looking. I love John Lennon.

1. Paul McCartney

The picture that I have included here is one of the hottest things I have ever seen. It is one of my favorite pictures ever taken. It was taken in the late 60s, but Paul was a hottie through the entire decade. Paul has been a hottie through every decade. I love this man. Yay Paul!

Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 1

Here's the next part of the series: Musicians!

1950s:

5. Buddy Holly

Yeah, I'm for-serious. Sometimes I dig the nerdy-looking type. But Buddy was all rock & roll. I love his music and his voice. He was an awesome dude. Factoid for you: I was born on the 30th anniversary of his death. I am now wondering what sorts of music he would have made if he'd lived through the 60s, 70s, and beyond ... hmmm.

4. Dean Martin

Dean was a handsome guy. I really like his voice. It reminds me of Christmas. Haha. It's because I love his version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Anyway, yeah ... here he is at number 4.

3. Johnny Cash

Johny was also a handsome guy ... and no, I'm not just talking about Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash. Haha, I know some people expect that of me. But no, Johnny definitely belongs at number 3 on this top 5.

2. Frank Sinatra

First, one of the hottest pictures of Frank Sinatra was his mugshot and I'm not even joking. But that picture was taken in 1938 and, therefore, does not apply to this list. He was arrested for adultery, by the way. Playa! Anyway ... yes, Frank was definitely a hottie. I had to look through lots of pics of him in order to make this list, and so I am qualified to tell you that he was a hottie.

1. Elvis Presley

I think I might love Elvis. This is a severely hot picture. Besides, his music is amazing. So yes, he is a hottie.

Hotties of the Decades: Film Actors Part 6

2000s! The final part of the Film Actors portion of the hottie series!

5. Ewan McGregor

He can sing, he can act. I've heard he's been nude in several of his films, but I've never seen those movies. Haha. He rides motorcycles around the world, too. The point is, he's an amazing, super-talented hottie. An unbelievably beautiful man. I love him!

4. Daniel Craig

In my opinion, he's the best James Bond - it's only an opinion, but an opinion shared by many. I also believe he's the hottest James Bond. Yeah, Pierce and Sean were pretty hot, but Daniel is insanely hot. Did you see the bathing suit scene in Casino Royale? Hmmmm. I love him!

3. Tobey Maguire

I had to defend his hotness when a couple of haters in my acting class last semester dissed him and his insanely good looks. I stood up for my boy. He's not only SMOKING HOT, but he's also very talented and he seems like an awesome person. I am ready for Spider-Man 4. That excites me to no end. I love Tobey!

2. Jake Gyllenhaal

I have 13 pictures of him on my bedroom wall (including the one I used here). That's an interesting fact for you, huh? Haha. Anyway, there are so many pictures of him there for a reason: he's a hottie! He's played such a wide range of characters, but one thing remains constant through all of his roles: he's always gorgeous. Yes, even in Bubble Boy. I love Jake!

1. Christian Bale

It was pretty tough to pick a winner, but I'm giving the number one spot to Christian. He is definitely a hottie. He's Batman! He's John Connor! He's willing to lose insane amounts of weight to make an incredible film! He's amazing! I love him. He's the hottest actor of this decade. Now, I need to go see Rescue Dawn.

That's the end of the Film Actors portion of this series. Soon I will start posting the Musicians portion of the series, so come back for that. Bye!

Hotties of the Decades: Film Actors Part 5

1990s!! The first decade in which I was old enough to have memories of new movies!

5. Tom Hanks

I have always liked him a lot, perhaps even loved him. But now I am IN love with him. He is amazing. I was channel surfing today and You've Got Mail was on and I started watching it. I don't even think I liked that movie very much the first time I saw it. Maybe I did. I just don't remember it. Haha. Anyway, Tom is here in the 1990s section of this series mainly because of Saving Private Ryan. He was absolutely amazing in that movie ... I love Captain Miller! I also love the movie and the character of Forrest Gump. Hmmm ... Tom's character in each of those films was in the military. Hmm, man in uniform. I need to see Philadelphia, by the way. It will probably make me cry, but I must see it. I love Tom Hanks! By the way, the picture for him here is from Saving Private Ryan, and yes, that is bloody water running down his face. D-Day Invasion!! Hotness under pressure!!

4. Jim Carrey

He is one of my favorite people ever and he is a hottie. He was a hottie in the 90s, as Ace Ventura and as Stanley Ipkiss (The Mask) and even as The Cable Guy's title character. One thing that isn't appearance related that I think attributes to hottness is a sense of humor, which Jim obviously has. And then he's gorgeous, so here he is. Yay!

3. Johnny Depp

Only number 3? Well, this decade was very close! It's tough! Johnny Depp is the only one in this decade that isn't on my List - he is very close to being there, though. Especially since I found the picture of him I used for this list. WOW. But, of course, every picture of him is pretty WOW. He is beautiful. Haha. I want to watch Benny and Joon right now. And What's Eating Gilbert Grape. And Ed Wood. And Edward Scissorhands. And Cry-Baby! I love Cry-Baby! It used to be on TV all the time ... where is it?

2. Edward Norton

Mainly for Fight Club - my favorite movie - Edward is here. And Brad Pitt isn't? Nope. Sorry. Edward Norton is hotter than Brad Pitt. Yeah, I said it. While I was watching You've Got Mail tonight, a commercial for that network's showing of the movie Keep The Faith came on. I have never seen that movie, but I was taken aback by Edward's sheer hotness in that commercial - I NEED TO SEE THAT MOVIE. He is amazing. He was also pretty hot in American History X, aside from the swastika tattoos ... but he was in great physical shape. Frightening, yes. But a hottie still.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio

The 90s was the decade that brought us Titanic, and thus began Leo-mania. So here he is at number one! Leo was probably my biggest actor crush in the 90s because of Titanic. He is just so strikingly attractive. I love him still. Leo wins! Yay! By the way, I will always cry when Jack Dawson sinks to the bottom of the Atlantic. Always.

Hotties of the Decades: Film Actors Part 4

1980s!

5. Robin Williams

Did you ever guess that one? Well, here he is. I was looking at pics of him from "Mork and Mindy" and I am finally agreeing with those that say Robin looks like Bono, so he is automatically a hottie right there. I think it's more true of their younger selves ... but anyway. Here is Robin Williams, being a hottie. I'm not sure if that pic is from the 80s, but it is nice. Since this is for film actors, I didn't want to use one of him in his Mork costume, even though I like it ... haha.

4. Tom Cruise

I don't care who thinks he is insane, Tom Cruise is still a hottie. I LOVED him in Rain Man. He was mean to his brother (played wonderfully by Dustin Hoffman) but he was still awesome. I have not seen even Risky Business and he is still here. Haha. Scientology may be a little ... strange. But the man is still a hottie.

3. Matthew Broderick

Ferris Beuller is an amazing person. I watch that movie whenever I see it on. I have had a crush on Matthew Broderick since I first saw that movie. And then I saw Glory in 10th grade history class and it was very exciting. Matthew Broderick + Civil War movie of awesomeness = YAY! Now I want to watch Glory ... and Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Hmmm.

2. Michael Douglas

Believe it or not, Michael Douglas was the last person I added to this top 5 list and he ended up at number 2. It's all because of Romancing the Stone. First of all, I LOVE that movie. Second of all ... wow, hottie alert. I mean, he's running around in the jungle all sweaty and muddy and gun-weilding and amazing throughout the whole movie. It is a wonderful film and I highly recommend it.

1. Michael J. Fox

Yay! I am in love with Michael J. Fox. I have been for most of my life. He is one of my favorite people in the world. He's a brilliant actor and an amazing human being. I could watch the Back to the Future movies all day. In fact, I need to have a day or a weekend or a week in which I watch nothing but Back to the Future films, "Family Ties," and "Spin City." I am going to recommend something else to you: his first book, Lucky Man. It made me cry. It's wonderful. I need to read his new book. But yes, he is a hottie with an appropriate last name. I love him!

Hotties of the Decades: Film Actors Part 3

1970s

5. Harrison Ford

I almost put him on the list for the 1980s because of the Indiana Jones films, but I couldn't think of anyone else for the 70s ... so Harrison is here for the first Star Wars film. Han Solo was a hottie!

4. John Travolta

I haven't seen his famous disco movies, but I have seen Grease several several times (yes, two severals). Danny Zuko is a hottie and so John Travolta is here.

3. Robert DeNiro

I love the movie Taxi Driver. Robert's character, Travis Bickle, may be insane, but he is a hottie ... even with the mohawk. Robert was also in The Godfather Part II, and was wonderful there are well.

2. Clint Eastwood

I have a crush on him and I haven't even seen any of his movies. But hey, can you blame me??

1. Al Pacino

I have seen most of his movies! I am a crazy Al Pacino fan! I love him so much! He was my first ever actor obsession. I became obsessed with him after I saw The Godfather for the first time. I was in 9th grade. My favorite of his 1970s films are, in no particular order: The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon, ...And Justice For All, and Serpico. Wonderful movies!

Hotties of the Decades: Film Actors Part 2

The 1960s! A decade I am a teensy bit more familiar with - more so with the music, but a bit with the movies ... so here goes.

5. Gregory Peck

I've seen him in two movies! One, The Omen, was not made in the 60s so I will not talk about it. The other, To Kill A Mockingbird, was made in the 60s. Atticus Finch was a hottie!

4. Paul Newman

I saw him in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and that's all I needed for him to be on this list. Just look at his eyes! Side note 1: I like the Paul Newman brand Caesar Salad dressing more than almost anything. Side note 2: Paul's godson is included in part 6 of this series.

3. Warren Beatty

Bonnie & Clyde is one of my must-see movies right now ... has been for a while, I think. I've never seen any Warren Beatty films but he is still number 3 on this list. Why not? I mean, look at that picture. I don't even know if it was taken in the 60s, but ... how could I not use it? It illustrates the point of this list quite nicely.

2. Robert Redford

My mommy thinks he is the hottest film actor ever in the history of the world. For me, he's number two of the 60s. That's still respectable - he is a hottie!! As with Paul Newman, one viewing of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid gets him on this list.

1. Dustin Hoffman

Dustin wins! I've seen several of his movies, but he's here mainly for The Graduate. My mom thinks I'm crazy for putting him higher on this list than Robert Redford ... which is kind of mean, considering my dad looks a lot like Dustin Hoffman ... which makes Dustin's placement on my list a little strange ... but I didn't know my daddy in the 60s so it's okay - Dustin wins! Yay!!
