The HEmmy Awards

In honor of tonight being the 61st annual Emmy Awards, I have decided to make my own version of the awards: The HEmmys. This is because I disagreed with several of the winners. I don't doubt any of the winners' talent ... I just like some other people more. So here are my nominees (in alphabetical order for each category) and then my winners will be listed at the end of the post to heighten the suspense. Also, that way you can write down your own picks and compare them to mine later!

"So You Think You Can Dance" Season 5: The Lists

The season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" was tonight. I made some lists to commemorate the event. Here the are:

Top 10 SYTYCD Season 5 Dancers

10. Kupono - I didn't go crazy about him every week, but he had a couple of very bright spots in his journey on the show. I also liked his unique fashion sense.
09. Melissa - I didn't go crazy about her every week either, but she seemed like a very nice person. She danced beautifully.
08. Jason - He was in a few of my favorite dances. I just liked him, especially in his last few weeks.
07. Jonathan - I didn't like his top 20 dance at all, but another of his dances (you'll see which one later) had me nearly in love with him. I was very upset that he was voted off so soon.
06. Caitlin - She was my favorite girl for a while. I wished she'd stayed on longer, too.
05. Randi - She was also my favorite girl for a while ... maybe it was because of who she was paired with at first, but she was also super cute and a great dancer.
04. Kayla - I wasn't crazy about her at first, but she kept getting better and better. I am glad she was in the final four.
03. Jeanine - She ended up being my favorite girl. I am very happy she won.
02. Phillip - He might not have adapted well to different styles of dance, but he was amazing in his own style. I love watching him dance.
01. Evan - My favorite since his audition! I am in love with him. I am sad he didn't win, but at least he made it to the finale. I hope he brings his style of dance back to the masses!

Top 16 SYTYCD Season 5 Dances
*Note: I'm only counting couples dances, including the boy/boy & girl/girl dances from the finale performance show

16. Jeanine & Brandon – Paso Doble (Louis van Amstel)
I don't like Brandon at all, so if Jeanine had been dancing with someone else this might be higher. It was just so powerful and I couldn't keep my eyes off Jeanine. I had to include this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ0mRPA7n1I

15. Evan & Brandon – “Nasty” Pop Jazz (Lauriann Gibson)
I don't like Brandon at all, so if Evan had been dancing with someone else this would probably be higher. I thought Evan did great. I liked his outfit and I thought he acted just "nasty" enough. And he's a hottie.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyKcbIfsuiM

14. Asuka & Vitolio – Waltz (Louis van Amstel)
Not two of my favorite dancers, nor is it my favorite style, but it was a beautiful dance. One of my favorites of that night.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbm1PVqipuw

13. Evan & Melissa – “Wedding” Broadway (Tyce Diorio)
No, it's not just here because Evan was in his underpants. It's also here because it was fun and Evan did well in his own style.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8TB1Ej0hFA

12. Kayla & Kupono – “Addiction” Contemporary (Mia Michaels)
I wasn't going crazy about this at first, but after I saw it on the finale tonight, it just got to me. Something clicked and now I like it, so here it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeV_R4tsdAs

11. Evan & Kayla – Viennese Waltz (Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin)
This is here mainly because I am proud of Evan for, as Debbie Allen would say, "handling his big woman."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6QeXQDN874

10. Ashley & Kupono – “Crash Test Dummies” Jazz (Wade Robson)
This was just so cool. It was crazy, right there on the first big episode of the season. Wade Robson is awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv3YNqs2OqY

9. Evan & Randi – Broadway (Joey Dowling)
Okay, so this is here mainly because Evan is a hottie and he was even more hottie-tized for this routine. But I also just like broadway dancing and this was a cool example of that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPYlrFXVUeI

8. Caitlin & Jason – Bollywood (Nakul Dev Mahajan)
I also like Bollywood dancing. It's so exciting! This was a fun, unforgettable routine. Caitlin's handstand was amazing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4jNNNacF0A

7. Kayla & Jason – “Zombie” Hip Hop (Shane Sparks)
This was a fun, cool, scary routine. I love the strangulation move at the end. Jason shouldn't have gone home after this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdNQ_i53t7M

6. Phillip & Jeanine – “Mad” Hip Hop (Tabitha & Napoleon)
An awesome way to start off the season. I really took notice of Jeanine during this routine ... I didn't remember her from Vegas week at all ... oops. And Phillip was amazing in hip hop, as always.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhj4UAcxy7k

5. Evan & Randi – Jazz (Tyce Diorio)
This was their first routine together. I loved it. It was my favorite from the top 20 episode. It was pretty hot, haha.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6CkSU8T_Vw

4. Evan & Randi – "Booty Dance" Contemporary (Mia Michaels)
Another Evan/Randi dance! This was their best dance together. It was fun and both dancers did so well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_TFSBqSfGM

3. Jeanine & Jason – Contemporary (Travis Wall)
It was difficult for me to order the next two, but this is how in ended up. This was amazing. The music was perfect and the dancing was perfect. I think Jeanine really started her trek to winning the title with this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ll9xhRZ5W4

2. Karla & Jonathan – “Falling Slowly” Contemporary (Stacey Tookey)
This is the one I was talking about before, that almost made me fall in love with Jonathan. The song probably has a lot to do with it - it's a great song - but the dancing was phenomenal as well. I wish one of the judges had requested this one for the finale.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8Dv-ZOrcAU

1. Evan & Jeanine – Jazz (Sonya Tayeh)
I had been waiting for this pairing for a long time, and I finally got it ... on the finale performance show. It was SO good. Worth the long wait, really. Both dancers did wonderfully. I wish they'd redone this one on the finale ... sigh. Anyway ... this is my favorite! Yay!

Update

Summer is almost over and I'm not happy.

Well, I'm sort of happy because I got some new stuff recently: a bookcase, puzzles, Battleship game, and Green Day's new CD. But I am not happy about school coming in two and a half weeks.

I am also depressed because one of my gerbils, Sammy, died. He just got sick out of the blue. After I got back from seeing the newest Harry Potter movie, he was sick. Less than 24 hours later, he passed away. I am very sad, still. Frodo is still sad too. He misses his brother. I kind of need to clean out his cage, but I am afraid it will get rid of Sammy's smell and Frodo will miss him even more. Anyway, that's the biggest thing that is getting me down.

I have something exciting to look forward to, which is a good distraction. My parents and I are going to see Paul McCartney in concert in 15 days! I am very excited. Our tickets came in the mail today. We have to go to Atlanta and ride the MARTA ... a train or a bus. I hope it's the train we get to ride. I've ridden on buses before, but never a train. The concert is in a park! I think we'll be able to see the Atlanta skyline from the park and everything. It will be very exciting. I am ready, but I want time to go slow since the concert is three days before school starts.

I have another distraction, but it's not so exciting. I'm totally cleaning and re-vamping my room. It's a disaster right now, but it's a work in progress ... more than a week's work in progress. I've been living in the guest room (this room) the whole time. The TV in here is broken, so I've been reading a lot. I've finished two books and I'm almost done with a third. Reading is fun. Cleaning is not. You do not even want to know what was under my dresser. I got a new bookcase, though. It's taller than I am. That is very exciting, since the book case I already had was less than 4 feet tall and was occupied mostly by DVDs. It is now totally occupied by DVDs while my nice big bookcase is an actual book case. I moved my dresser down to the corner and put my new bookcase where it was, which means I only had to move one big poster: my Green Day fabric poster. I put it over one of the windows above my bed. I need to get another fabric poster to put over the other window. That would be really cool, to have fabric poster curtains. Haha. Anyway ... I am ready to be done with my room, but it's slow going. Sigh.

My knee hurts. I cut it shaving. :(

My favorite So You Think You Can Dance contestant is in the finale! Yay Evan!

I guess that's all my news. Bye.

A Post! A Post!

Hey, it's me again. Oh boy!

I am ready to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but I am not going until Sunday. Sigh. I want to see it with my parents (it's tradition!) and that's when they want to go so I have to wait. Sigh. I read the book in preparation, but I finished it Monday so I started Deathly Hallows. I've only read it once - can you even believe that? Well, I can't. So I am reading it again. I'm through 11 chapters.

I have been playing the Sly Cooper video games. I already had the first one and I beat it for the umpteenth time while I was on vacation. Then, a little while after I got home I bought the second one. It was so much fun, but I beat it too! The other day, I went looking for the third one and I found it! I was so excited because, until the day before I found it I didn't even know it existed. So I am happy. I am about 35% done with that game. It's fun too.

I have been watching So You Think You Can Dance this season. My favorite is Evan Kasprzak. He's wonderful. Tonight was fun except for one huge problem: The president took up half the show! It's not fair because the show depends on the votes of the viewers, and if the viewers miss half the show then someone could go home even if they did something amazing in the first half of the show! I'm wondering if everyone missed the first half or if it was just this city. Hmmm.

I played a fierce game of racquetball today. It was my third or fourth game ever, I can't remember. I lost for the third or fourth time ever. I mean, I've lost every game. I set a personal record today, though. I had never gotten double-digit points until today, when I scored 11. So it's my high score. My dad scored 21 again, though. He always scores 21 because he always wins. Sigh. I am going to win someday.

All this dieting and exercising is crazy. It's not even working. My mom swears I've lost "inches," but I can't see plural inches going anywhere. I can't even see one inch has gone and I don't think I've lost more than two pounds. It really sucks. I am working really hard! I try to go to the gym six times a week, at least five. I play racquetball, basketball, I swim, I walk a mile or more three times a week, I use elliptical machines and treadmills and bikes and stairclimbers and what do I get? Sore arms and legs, pool toe, and frizzy sweat hair. Well, I'm ready for real results.

Tomorrow I am either going to the gym earlier or not at all, but I have good reason. I am finally getting to hang out with my best friend! I have only seen him once this summer and it was when I visited him at his work. We are going to hang out after he is done at work, though! Yay! I am excited. I have real plans!

That's sort of my update. I think I will go play Sly 3! Yay! I love Sly Cooper. If he was a person, he would be a hottie. Since he is a raccoon, he is just cute. Okay, I've surpassed weirdness, time to go. Bye!

Hey look, a new post

I guess I've abandoned those hottie lists. Oops. Maybe I'll post them eventually, just the lists. But I don't know where my paper with the lists is, so not now.

I'm just posting some surveys so you will remember me. I will get back to normal posting soon. This blog has been dead.

1. What are some things you do when you’re mad? I scream and stomp on the ground and scream some more. That's if I'm REALLY furious and at home. If I'm just a little mad and/or in public, I just scowl.

2. How do you feel about your hair right now? I don't really care right now because it's late.

3. What are you listening to right now? Frank Sinatra! I love him.

4. Are there any stressful situations in your life? Not right now since it's a late summer night.

5. Do you enjoy late night phone conversations? I haven't had one in ages. I prefer late night g-chat sessions anyway, but I haven't had any of those in a while either.

6. When was the last time you talked to one of your siblings? I talked to my brother on his birthday, nearly a month ago.

7. What’s an interesting fact about you that not many people know? Well, my dad says I have a natural talent for dancing, but I don't know about that ... I just dance as a joke, trying to be a fraction as awesome as Gene Kelly, haha.

8. Do you do anything embarrassing when no one is home? I sing really loudly and I practice my dancing!!

9. What was the last good news you heard? Well, it was bad news at first. It looked like I would have to get two books or something for chemistry class and they were both over $200 a piece new, but it turns out it's and either/or thing, so that's good news.

10. If you had the chance to move to a completely different state, would you? Not right now since I'm halfway done with college and I don't want to move and lose my scholarship, not to mention I love my house and I don't really want to ever move out of it ... but I would love to live in east Tennessee or southern California one day.

11. What do you wish you had more knowledge about? History. I crave knowledge of past events. I love knowing dates and important things like that!

12. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? 14. Shut up.

13. If your doctor said you were pregnant, what would you say? I'd say, "You lying bastard." That's all.

14. real name: hannaH (I typed it backwards to make it more difficult to understand)

15. Like it? I saw it in a Harry Potter book today and read it over and over again and decided it's really cool. But I've always liked it.

-Where did you get the shirt you're wearing? My daddy bought it for me at the Disney Store!

-How many TRUE best friends do you have? Just the one!

Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 3

1970s

5. Ringo Starr

I love Ringo. I think he's a total hottie, even today. He's a cool dude and I love his music. I don't know what else to say ... except ... yay Ringo!

4. Robert Plant

His voice is amazing. He was certainly a 70s icon and a 70s hottie. He dressed the part, too ... haha.

3. George Harrison

I had the oldest Beatle at the beginning of this list and now the youngest. George was a hottie too. Those Beatles were a bunch of hotties, in multiple decades ... haha.

2. Steven Tyler

He's a lot like Mick Jagger for me, in that he might not have the prettiest face, but his attitude and his singing make him a total hottie. Except I'm gonna say that in the 70s, Steven was a lot prettier than Mick. Haha.

1. Freddie Mercury

My number one in a lot of categories! It's been three and a half years since I was in the middle of my crazy Queen obsession, but I am still definitely in love with Freddie. He was a genius, had (in my opinion) one of the top one, two, or three best voices ever, and was ... you guessed it ... a total hottie.

A Break From The Hotties

I see I've been slacking on the hottie posting. Sorry about that. I am going to slack off a little bit more. I felt like blogging about something else tonight.

I'M DONE WITH THE SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, May 7, was my first full day of summer vacation. I was lazy to the Nth degree. It was wonderful. What did I do ... hmmm. Well, I played a video game. I watched TV. I painted. I ran around the internet. I played with my gerbils. I was just lazy. I stayed in my pajamas. I only went outside once, and that was to check the mail.

Let me update you on what has been going on with me.

- I am now in love with James Dean and I am patiently awaiting the arrival of a poster of him I ordered from allposters.com a few nights ago.
- I watched Bonnie and Clyde Wednesday night. It was wonderful, except for the ending, but at least I knew it was coming. Warren Beatty is a hottie.
- I am still looking for a job.
- I sold my textbooks and I have enough money for a ticket to see U2 in Atlanta in October. Now I just have to convince my dad to take me ...
- I am teaching myself German with the help of a $3 German textbook I bought at a thrift store in Pell City, AL.
- I have started watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and stand-up comics on Comedy Central late at night.
- I think I might have gotten all As this semester ... but I just don't know.
- I have been watching old movies lately. Here are the ones I have watched in the order in which I liked them, from least favorite to favorite, but I loved them all:
4. An Affair To Remember
3. Bonnie and Clyde
2. North By Northwest
1. East of Eden
Giant is coming on TV next Thursday. I will certainly be watching it to see my new love, James Dean. Hopefully the library will have Rebel Without A Cause the next time I go there.
- My 2 favorite American Idol contestants, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, are in the top 3! I will be happy if either of them wins.
- I am still in love with Ryan Seacrest.
- My car is in the shop.
- I want to travel.
- I am afraid of bees.
- I love soft pretzels.
- I love pancakes.

That should be all. I am going to go do something, but I don't know what. And then I am going to bed. Bye!

Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 2

1960s

5. Mick Jagger

Okay ... he's never had the prettiest face, but he didn't look half bad in the 60s. He's always been in fantastic physical shape, though. Something else that contributes to his hottie status - probably the main thing, really - is his attitude. He's just a cool guy. Always has been. So he is on this list.

4. Jim Morrison

I've always had a bit of a crush on him. He was just a very pretty man. The iconic picture of him I have included here shows that. He also had a great voice and that cool guy, don't-give-a-damn attitute. I need to listen to more Doors music.

3. Paul Simon

I love both members of Simon & Garfunkel, but I believe Paul fits on this list just a bit better. They are both looking good in this picture, though! I'll say Art is number 6 for this list. Honorable mention! But yes, Paul Simon was a 60s hottie. I love him!

2. John Lennon

I was watching A Hard Day's Night some weeks ago I was thinking, "John Lennon is insanely adorable." He was! Haha. His sense of humor adds to his hottie status. He was also incredibly good looking. I love John Lennon.

1. Paul McCartney

The picture that I have included here is one of the hottest things I have ever seen. It is one of my favorite pictures ever taken. It was taken in the late 60s, but Paul was a hottie through the entire decade. Paul has been a hottie through every decade. I love this man. Yay Paul!

Hotties of the Decades: Musicians Part 1

Here's the next part of the series: Musicians!

1950s:

5. Buddy Holly

Yeah, I'm for-serious. Sometimes I dig the nerdy-looking type. But Buddy was all rock & roll. I love his music and his voice. He was an awesome dude. Factoid for you: I was born on the 30th anniversary of his death. I am now wondering what sorts of music he would have made if he'd lived through the 60s, 70s, and beyond ... hmmm.

4. Dean Martin

Dean was a handsome guy. I really like his voice. It reminds me of Christmas. Haha. It's because I love his version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Anyway, yeah ... here he is at number 4.

3. Johnny Cash

Johny was also a handsome guy ... and no, I'm not just talking about Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash. Haha, I know some people expect that of me. But no, Johnny definitely belongs at number 3 on this top 5.

2. Frank Sinatra

First, one of the hottest pictures of Frank Sinatra was his mugshot and I'm not even joking. But that picture was taken in 1938 and, therefore, does not apply to this list. He was arrested for adultery, by the way. Playa! Anyway ... yes, Frank was definitely a hottie. I had to look through lots of pics of him in order to make this list, and so I am qualified to tell you that he was a hottie.

1. Elvis Presley

I think I might love Elvis. This is a severely hot picture. Besides, his music is amazing. So yes, he is a hottie.
